A Police medical report form was issued to the victim’s aunt to send her to any government hospital. A 42-year-old teacher, who allegedly had countless sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old Junior High School (JHS) girl at Abokobi, has been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court.  Ben Nyumu was admitted to bail in the sum of 50,000 cedis with five sureties to appear again on August 22.  This was after his counsel had prayed the court to admit him to bail.  Charged with defilement, Nyumu pleaded not guilty before the court presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin Doku.  Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agnes Boafo, said the complainant is a Police Officer in Accra and the victim is a JHS leaver awaiting her results.  The accused person is a teacher in the victim’s school (name withheld). The Donald Trump administration is considering a $100 billion tax cut for the super-rich through a tweak that would not need Congress nod, according to NYT. This follows the huge, regressive tax cuts last year. The idea is to change the way capital gains are calculated by taking into account the inflation-adjusted initial value of an asset. This would reduce the tax burden on investors and allow them to save more money. The two ex-GITMO detainees have married in Ghana Outgoing United States (US) ambassador to Ghana, Robert P. Jackson, has disclosed that the two former Guantanamo Bay detainees in Ghana also known as gitmo 2, have married in Ghana and given birth and are well integrated into the Ghanaian society now. “Both of them are married now; both of them have children now; both of them are well integrated into Ghana,” he stated. Former President John Dramani Mahama has joined other members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in condemning President Akufo-Addo over the appointment of Jean Mensa as the new Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson.
