Journalists are highly disappointed with the organisers of this year's independence day celebration
  Some journalists are not happy with the way organisers of this year's independence day celebration treated them, they are not happy why photo journalists were load into truck. Journalists needs to be respected. They( journalists) are the fourth arms of government in this country.

Montie Three Alistair Nelson [Left], Salifu Masse [Middle] and Godwin Ako Gunn [Right] President John Dramani Mahama has, in consultation with the Council of State and in exercise of his constitutional powers under Article 72 of the Constitution, remitted the remaining prison sentence imposed on the Montie three Salifu Maase (alias Mugabe), Alistair Nelson and Ako Gunn. The three were sentenced to four months imprisonment and a fine of GH¢10,000.00 each for contempt of court. The remission is effective 26th August 2016. The three were sentenced on 27th July 2016 and have served part of the prison sentences imposed on them. They have also paid the GH¢10,000.00 (ten thousand Cedis) fines, according to a statement by the Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah. Independence? Ghana is now 59 years old and yes, we should celebrate it. It is good to be an independent nation with the freedom to make our own choices. This is another opportunity to thank our founding men and women, all of them, for the sacrifices they made to launch this nation, Ghana. But we must know that we have a lot more work to do to become truly independent. The promise made at independence to prove that we are capable of managing our own affairs has not been kept. We the people live with a Constitution, designed by us that denies the people independence - the right to elect our own local chief executives. We still struggle with monoccocal meningitis, needless death through road accidents from a lack of good emergency medical care and the majority of our children do not go on to high school.
