I will be jail when NPP comes to power – Dzifa Attivor

Former Transport minister Dzifa Attivor has appealed to
residents of the Volta region to retain the NDC in power in
the upcoming polls in order to
avoid the witch-hunting of
politicians from the region.
According to her, the New Patriotic Party has the penchant
for targeting and jailing leading figures of the NDC from the
region, when they are in power.
Mrs Attivor made reference to the incarceration of Tsatsu
Tsikata, Victor Selormey and Dan Abodakpi by the NPP
government for their various roles in the Rawlings-led NDC
government.
Addressing supporters of the ruling party at Ketu South in
the Volta region, Mrs Attivor said she and current Transport
minister Fiifi Kwetey, who both hail from the region, may be
targeted and jailed if the NPP wins power.
“When the NPP came to power in 2001, a lot of our people
were sent to prison; Victor Selormey, Dan Abordakpui, and
so on, was imprisoned. Was it because no other persons
committed crime in Ghana? But it was only Ewes that they
jailed.
"I want to entreat you not do anything for me and Fiifi
Kwetey go to prison. It lies with you all to ensure that no
Ewe person goes to prison. So I am pleading with you to
work hard and deliver the 120 thousand vote target for the
party in the constituency,” sh said.
Attivor resigned her post last year following the
embarrassing controversy that surrounded the bus
rebranding contract awarded NDC supporter Selassie
Ibrahim.
